What we expect: a plain-language summary
Thronestead is competitive by design and collaborative by culture. Every player, alliance leader, moderator, creator, and staff member is expected to act with respect, integrity, and accountability. This Code applies everywhere Thronestead players meet: in-game chat, mail, boards, embassies, the press, kingdom and alliance profiles, and the official Discord community. In short:
- Compete hard but play fair. Avoid abusive or manipulative behavior.
- Report exploits and safety concerns promptly instead of weaponizing them.
- Treat alliance members, opponents, moderators, and support agents with respect.
- Use reporting tools honestly and provide accurate evidence.
This summary is for orientation only. It is not a replacement for the full text. The numbered sections below are the binding rules and prevail if anything differs. To report a problem right now, jump to §7 Reporting Misconduct; to challenge a penalty, see §10 Appeals.
What changed on October 14, 2026: §8 now describes the two automatic restrictions the moderation system already applies, an hour-long restriction for the most severe content and a temporary chat mute after repeated serious violations, matching the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Nothing about what is allowed changed. September 9, 2026: the Code named the official Discord community as a covered space (§11), spells out the surface restrictions moderators can apply and the immediate automatic hold the content filter can trigger (§9), lists the Report option beside each post as the fastest route (§7), and confirms that suspended and banned accounts can still sign in to appeal (§10). Nothing that was allowed before is forbidden now.
1. Respect and Anti-Harassment
Harassment is prohibited. This includes slurs, hateful conduct, targeted intimidation, stalking, dogpiling, and threats. Abuse directed at protected characteristics is treated as high-severity misconduct and may result in immediate account restrictions.
2. Fair Play
Cheating, automation, exploit chaining, unauthorized scripts, account boosting, match manipulation, and client tampering are all prohibited. So is running more than one account per person, or directing accounts you control (or that others run for you) to funnel copper, goods, or land into one kingdom, dodge a restriction, or manipulate rankings. If you discover an exploit, report it through Contact Support rather than using it for advantage; good-faith exploit reports are never penalised.
3. Identity and Fraud
Impersonating staff, moderators, partner creators, or other players is prohibited. Credential theft, scam activity, and social engineering are severe violations that may result in permanent account sanctions.
4. Privacy
Doxxing, non-consensual sharing of personal data, blackmail, and off-platform harassment coordination are prohibited. Violations of player privacy may trigger immediate suspension.
5. Illegal and Harmful Content
Content involving sexual exploitation, extremist promotion, malware distribution, trafficking, or other unlawful activity is prohibited. Harmful content will be removed and may be reported to law enforcement.
6. Alliance Leadership
Leaders and officers must manage roles, treasury access, and membership fairly. Coercive recruitment, discriminatory exclusions, retaliatory removals, and treasury extortion are violations that can lead to role removal and account penalties.
7. Reporting Misconduct
Use in-game reporting tools and support channels for policy concerns. The fastest route is the Report option shown beside a chat message, mail, board post, press article, or profile. It carries the exact content with it. For anything else, the Report a Player form takes a free-form description. Include timestamps, screenshots, or other relevant context when possible. The person you report is never told who reported them. Knowingly false or bad-faith reports may themselves trigger moderation action, and per-player report limits are enforced automatically.
8. How We Investigate
Moderation decisions draw on automated signals, report history, direct evidence, and manual review. Automated tools sort the queue, can hold or block the most severe content, and apply two short automatic restrictions: about an hour without chat, alliance chat, private messages, and boards after the most severe content, and about an hour of chat mute after repeated serious violations within a day. A person reviews those and makes every other enforcement decision, and each can be appealed (§10). Reports do not receive a reply and there is no promised review time; if you must follow up, quote your report number to Contact Support. During active investigations, accounts may receive temporary restrictions to protect player safety and platform integrity.
9. Enforcement
Consequences range from warnings and chat limits through content removal, progression rollback, temporary suspension, alliance role revocation, and permanent bans. Between a warning and a suspension sit surface restrictions: moderators can limit your use of the specific feature you misused (chat, private messages, boards, profile editing, market listings, war naming, or the report system itself) for a set time or indefinitely, and repeated or severe abuse can cost access to every communication surface at once. High-severity safety, fraud, and exploit violations can bypass intermediate steps. Every enforcement decision is made against this published standard, and every action can be appealed: one appeal per enforcement action (§10).
10. Appeals
You may submit one appeal per enforcement action. Appeals should include new evidence or missing context. Repetitive abusive appeals or fabricated evidence may be closed without further review.
11. Off-Platform Behavior
Conduct outside the game can lead to in-service action when it creates credible threats to player safety, event integrity, or official community spaces connected to Thronestead. The official Discord community is one of those spaces: this Code applies there in full alongside Discord's own rules, and moderators may act on what happens there exactly as they would in-game. Optional Discord notification links and the in-game Discord commands run under the same standard.
12. Staff and Creator Safety
Harassment, threats, bribery attempts, or doxxing targeting moderators, support agents, volunteers, or official creators is prohibited and may be escalated to legal authorities.
13. Events and Tournaments
Official tournaments, seasonal ladders, and special events may enforce stricter conduct and anti-cheat standards. Event-specific rules supplement this Code for the duration of each event.
14. Cooperation and Evidence
Players should cooperate with legitimate review requests. Intentionally destroying, falsifying, or tampering with evidence may increase enforcement severity and reduce appeal eligibility.
15. Policy Updates
This Code may be revised to address new abuse patterns, legal requirements, and safety practices. Material updates are announced on the Legal Hub and in Patch Notes, with the revision date and version shown at the top of this page; every enforcement decision is judged against the version in force when the conduct happened.
16. Contact
For conduct and safety questions, submit a request through Contact Support using the Conduct / community category; for harassment that puts someone at risk, choose Harassment / safety. Additional policies are available in the Legal Hub.
17. Related Policies
This Code operates alongside the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The Rules of the Political Stage explain how this Code applies to the public political surfaces (the Crier, alliance boards, embassies, region boards, and the press) and who enforces it there; where they differ, this Code prevails. Where policies overlap, the stricter safety or legal requirement applies. Emergency protections may be enforced before full case adjudication.
18. Reinstatement
In eligible cases, moderators may require corrective actions before restoring full access. These can include acknowledging the violation, completing safety guidance, or accepting a conditional probationary period.
